CityBlip is a real-time city dashboard that brings together local news, weather forecasts, upcoming events, Reddit discussions, podcasts, and fun trivia for cities across North America.
We aggregate data from trusted sources including CBC News, Open-Meteo weather, Eventbrite, Reddit community discussions, and local podcast feeds — updated every 2 hours so you always see what is happening right now.
Currently covering cities across Canada and the United States — from Victoria on the Pacific coast to St. John's on the Atlantic, and from New York to Los Angeles. Every city gets the same comprehensive dashboard — weather, news, events, community discussions, live music, podcasts, and local trivia.
A background worker fetches fresh data every 2 hours for all cities. The data is stored in a PostgreSQL database and served via Next.js on Vercel with ISR caching for fast page loads. No user accounts are needed — all dashboards are public and free.
CityBlip is built and maintained by Plip Software. The project started as a way to get a quick overview of what's happening in any city without visiting a dozen different websites.
